ITE Mission Statement
The Connecticut Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers’ purpose is to serve its members, the transportation profession, and the public by facilitating professional development and education, promoting the exchange of ideas, and enhancing the professional practice to provide safe, efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable transportation solutions.

Officers
President
Ted J. DeSantos, P.E., PTOE
Ted is Senior Vice President of Transportation and Structures with Fuss & O’Neill, and has worked the
past 18 years on diverse planning, and engineering assignments primarily in the state of CT. He has been
an ITE member since 1994, and is a Past President having served the CT Chapter from 2000-2002. Ted
has presented at ITE District I annual meetings in Mystic and Providence, RI and has served as Chairman
of several Panel/Technical sessions at CT Chapter meetings. He is a member of the APWA, ASCE, and
ITS-CT Chapter and holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of
Massachusetts at Dartmouth.

Ranjit A. Bhave, P.E.
Ranjit is a Transportation Engineer with Dewberry-Goodkind, Inc. in New Haven CT. He has over 7 years of experience in highway design and transportation planning. He has a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Arkansas and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Connecticut. Ranjit is also a recipient of 2003 ITE District 4 Student Paper Award. His experience includes a wide variety of projects such as drainage design, maintenance and protection of traffic designs, transportation planning studies, geometric design of highways, and design of 3D surface models. Ranjit has been an active ITE member since 2002 and resides in Milford with his wife and two children.

Michael Morehouse, P.E.
Michael leads the Transportation Planning and Engineering practice at Fitzgerald &
Halliday, Inc. A Senior Project Manager with over 19 years of experience in multimodal transportation
planning and engineering, Mr. Morehouse has extensive experience dealing with complex technical issues
and managing multidisciplinary teams on projects of all sizes. Mr. Morehouse holds a B.S. in Civil
Engineering from the University of Connecticut and has been a registered Professional Engineer since
1999. He is an active member of the Civil Engineering Advisory Board at the University of Connecticut,
a member of the Speaker’s Bureau for the National Complete Streets Coalition, a long-standing member of ITE, and involved with the ACEC as a member of the Government Affairs Committee.

years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning. He has a Bachelors degree in Civil
Engineering from The University of Rhode Island, is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of
Connecticut and also is a registered Professional Traffic Operations Engineer. His experience includes a
wide variety of projects such as corridor studies, maintenance and protection of traffic designs, traffic
impact studies, traffic signal design and traffic signal and coordination analysis. Michael has been an
active Connecticut ITE member since 1998.
