William Kresic, PE, PTOE - Candidate for Secretary
Will is a Transportation Engineer with VHB out of Wethersfield, CT. His 8 years of industry experience includes traffic signal design, transportation planning studies, and traffic operations analysis, as well as roundabout design, roadway design, streetscape and complete streets design, roadway safety projects, and planning and corridor studies. Will graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of CT. Will has been an active ITE member since 2015 and resides in both Southington and Meriden.
Christopher Mojica, PE, PTOE, RSP1 - Candidate for Secretary
Chris is a Senior Technical Director of Traffic & Transportation with AKRF in Stamford, CT. He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from New York University (formerly Polytechnic University) and a M.S. in Civil Engineering from CUNY City College of New York. Chris has 16 years of transportation planning and traffic engineering experience with a focus on corridor planning, traffic impact studies, traffic operations, road safety, and cost/benefit analyses. He is a Professional Engineer in Connecticut, a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer, and a Level 1 Road Safety Professional. Chris lives in Norwalk with his wife and two children.

Hello Fellow SENEITE Members,
Registration is now OPEN for our Fall Meeting on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Waltham, MA. We will be providing a Roundabout Training on the newly released NCHRP Report 1043; Technical Sessions on RIDOT’s Route 37 RAISE Grant and the MassDOT Design Justification Workbook; and a Keynote presentation from Phillip Eng, the MBTA General Manager & CEO. PDHs will be available for all attendees. Please see the attached Registration flyer for the meeting with all the details. Registration can be done from the following link: REGISTER HERE Registration closes October 11, 2023!
The SENEITE Section is also excited to announce that we have started a new scholarship program that will provide two $1,000 scholarships a year (awarded at our Fall Meeting) for current students: one undergraduate and one graduate. These scholarships are being funded in part through event registration fees as well as raffles such as the one listed below. We are dedicated to providing scholarship opportunities for our aspiring transportation engineers and appreciate our membership contributing to this program. The scholarship application form with additional details and requirements is attached to this email. All applications must be submitted via email to Jeff Bandini ([email protected]) by Thursday, September 28, 2023.
Lastly, we will also be holding a raffle like the ones in recent years with the old New England Section. Attached to this email is a letter reaching out to firms for raffle donations for the upcoming Fall Meeting. 100% of proceeds from this raffle will go to the SENEITE Scholarship Fund and would greatly appreciate your donations. Please take a read through the attached letter and contact Arianna Mickee ([email protected]) if your firm is interested in donating or have any questions.

Additional parking is available in the IKEA lot adjacent to the hotel. Alternatively, the venue is accessible via public transportation and other active transportation modes from Downtown.

UMass is hosting the ITE Northeastern District Student Traffic Bowl followed by the Boyer lecture (1PDH) and a reception on Thursday April 13th. Below is more information on the event along with the attached flyers:

Join us Thursday at 4 PM for the Distinguished Boyer Lecture on the UMass campus. Details of the Boyer Lecture and day’s festivities are attached/below; however, this event features 1.0 PDH and is free to attend. As an added bonus you will have the chance to network with transportation students who may very well be your next new employee. Hope to see you all then and there.
This year’s Boyer Lecture will be delivered by Curt Harrington, a System Engineering Manager at Cruise. Curt’s presentation is titled “Under the Hood” AV Safety & Systems @ Cruise. The talk will feature insights into Cruise’s autonomous vehicle safety & systems strategies! Examples of how new driving behaviors are validated and connections between the Systems and Transportation Engineering industries will also be examined.
