Letters to CT ITE Members
May 16, 2022
Hello all,
The CT ITE Chapter Board would like to thank everyone who attended our annual meeting on April 27th. It was great to see everyone in person again! We would especially like to thank Mark Rolfe, CTDOT Deputy Commissioner, for his informative presentation on the State’s Highway Safety Implementation Plan as well as Joe Balskus and all our panelists who participated in a spirited discussion on Pandemic Transportation in CT.
We would also like to congratulate all our 2021-2022 award recipients!
Award Recipients:
For those in attendance at our annual meeting, you also heard the big news that the New England Section is dissolving and reorganizing into three separate sections: a Connecticut section, a Mass/RI section, and a Northern New England section (VT/NH/ME). As our Connecticut Chapter is elevated at a Connecticut “Section”, members should not notice much of a difference in our operations. What this change will do is eliminate duplicate levels of leadership in the ITE Northeastern District and provide a more direct connection between our members, the Northeastern District, and ITE International. Eliminating the New England Chapters and consolidating into fewer Sections will also organize the Northeastern District more similarly to other Districts within ITE. For further information on the NEITE reorganization, please refer to this article in the latest edition of the Chronicle: The New England Chronicle – New England ITE (neite.org)
We hope everyone has a great summer! Keep your eyes peeled for more information soon on the reorganization and our upcoming golf tournament!
Thanks,
CT ITE Chapter Board
